Everyone Needs a Place to Call Home...

Tonight more than 3,000 Long Islanders, including nearly 1,500 children, will have no place to sleep. Some live with mental illness. Some suffer chronic substance abuse. Most want to get back on their feet, find jobs, join a community, but don't know where to begin.

Since 1985, Mercy Haven has provided temporary and permanent housing - and critical services - to Long Islanders in need.

We couldn't do what we do without our funding partners!

Last month our Executive Director, Sister Pat Griffith, and our Director of Development, Christine Cusack, attended a reception where we received a $20,000 grant through Newsday Charities, a McCormick Foundation fund. The grant will help us provide the critical support services we offer our residents and those living in poverty in our community.

Mercy Haven’s grant was one of 23 grants, totaling $970,000, made in 2014 through Newsday Charities.
