Mental Illness Awareness Week - October 5-12, 2014
Mental Illness Awareness Week is a national campaign established by Congress in 1990 and held the first full week of October. Once again this year, we will be among the agencies on Long Island who are hosting an event.
SAVE THE DATE
Everyone needs a place to call home...
Tonight more than 3,000 Long Islanders, including nearly 1,500 children, will have no place to sleep. Some live with mental illness. Some suffer chronic substance abuse. Most want to get back on their feet, find jobs, join a community, but don't know where to begin.
Since 1985, Mercy Haven has provided temporary and permanent housing--and critical services--to Long Islanders in need.
